How to use BFD2 Content in BFD 3.4?

Yeah- I hate to admit you are right on this one- but I guess it does help keep spam down…

Don’t know if you visited the old FXpansion forum especially in the last year or so, but it was completely overrun by spam /garbage posts and was just about useless. I’ll put up with a little gate-keeping to avoid a return to that.

InMusic and the BFD crew have been pretty great at getting a lot of peoples problems fixed, so hopefully you wont have to wait too long. The migration to the new servers, the switch over to the new company, catching bugs uncovered by updates, has been a little fraught for a few people, but someone will be along to help out, I’m sure.

Just post in this thread a few more times, and the PM button should appear for you.

Yeah- I’m sure it will be fixed soon. I was just grumpy because I upgraded to 3.4 and the kit presets I made were missing drums, but it didn’t tell me what the drums were so I had to ‘restore’ my computer (took about 8 hours) to before I upgraded to 3.4 to see what the kit pieces were that were missing, then I re-upgraded to 3.4 thinking the kit pieces would be there and realized they were not. Then I had to figure out what was going on and at that point I was not a happy camper.

Yeah, its been quite a difficult experience for a number of us. It’s getting there tho, and its been good to see the BFD crew themselves pitching in to try and help folk out. Stil a number of issues that need working out but progress is being made.

Hopefully youre issues with be dealt with soon enough.

New to this issue with BFD2 after installing BFD3 3.4. Will look to PM you my info. Did not see a ‘message’ icon clicking on your name so trying to post here and see if that helps - if you see this Drew, please PM me for the info so I can get ‘London Sessions’, if you have not heard from me yet - thanks

Hi Drew, Have just joined the forum and working on getting enough posts and clicks to PM you my serial# for BFD2 - this post is from a while back; is the ‘London Sessions’ available yet?

PM’s responded to. Cheers!

Hello Drew,

I´m new to this Forum and completely lost. The transfer from fxpansion to inMusic completely failed.
After installing BFD 3.4.2.4 nothing works anymore. I originally owned BFD2 (DVD) and updated it to BFD3. Is it possible to delete all BFD files and install directly BFD3? What could I do to use the BFD2 content. Any suggestion. Please help me.

The old BFD2 library is now available as The London Sessions and is free to download for BFD2 owners.

In addition to messaging Drew you could always support@bfddrums.com
Give them your old BFD2 serial number and they might be able to give you a serial for the new London Sessions.

As for the migration, it can be done manually and I think Drew posted details of how to go about it here.
It takes a while but if you’re familiar with the old BFD3 fxpansion folder structure it’s not too hard.

When you install the new inmusic version of BFD3 it creates new folders that (I think) are almost identical to the old fxpansion ones but they are just in the new BFD Dums folders, so where you have an fxpansion folder in your documents in which your grooves/kits/maps/presets/ and other folders are, you will now have a BFD Drums folder in your documents, inside of which are the same folders. So you can manually move your kits/presets/maps form the fxpansion folders into the new BFD Drums folders of the same name.

You will also need to do the same for the other fxpansion folders that can be found in either, Program Files or Program Files (x86) and Program Data.

The Core library will remain where they were but you might need to tell BFD3 where to look for them in the contents location page.

It’s probably better to copy the data over than move it, just in case something goes awry you still have the originals.

Good luck.

Steve

Hi.
Here’s what you need to do. Takes 10 minutes doing easy stuff.

2nd post for PM, I’ve got screen shots,

also noticed in the UI that sort grooves by date created does not hold…reverts to alpha

I sent Drew a PM and sent an email to support. Have not heard back from either, hoping to have this straightened out by tomorrow.
