My System is iMac Pro 10 core with 32 gigs of ram. Monterey 12.2, LUNA 1.2.5, Logic Pro 10.7.2, Pro Tools 2021.12, BFD 3 V3.4.3.7
I can confirm that with license manager 3.0.5.3 works with standalone, Luna and Logic but not Pro Tools.
And
License manager 3.2.5.2 Works with Pro Tools but not standalone, LUNA and Logic.
Will be nice when the current license manager works with all four.
Also the v3.4.3.7 BFD 3 installs LM 3.2.5.2. so if you want Pro Tools run the BFD 3 v3.4.3.7 installer. If you want standalone, logic pro or LUNA run the LM 3.2.5.2 after the BFD 3 install. I have both files now and will be able to trade when I want PT or the others.
Is it old content, or new content? Or just the software itself?
It is new content. Started out by trying standalone. Downloaded and installed the BFD 3 v3.4…3.7 installer and content. Then downloaded horsepower and jazz and funk content. Would occasionally get LM not up to date message, so I went to the LM download which was 3.0.5.3 which got standalone, LUNA and logic working but no pro tools. I updated pro tools to the latest version and it still did not work. Then I read through this thread carefully and reinstalled BFD 3 V3.4.3.7 and checked and it installed LM 3.0.5.2. And pro tools worked but not standalone, Luna or logic. Switch to LM 3.0.5.3 and Luna logic and stand alone worked but not pro tools. So yes all new content downloads.
Support have basically given up. Sent them all the logs and files they requested and they can’t help!!!
This is crap… Everything says it’s authorised… except when I go to use it. Standalone or Plugin…
Heeeeeeeellllllp!!!
Can you give us some specs- computer, OS, Plugin in what DAW. Did you uninstall or just install over. What BFD 3 version, what license manager version.
MacbookPro Intel2018, MacOS Monterey, LogicPro and Standalone.
Have not un-installed or re-installed and was not advised to.
Logged out, in, out etc etc… License manager says everything is good to go, authorised and up to date.
Upon launch of BFD, no go!! Gives the need to license message.
“BFD has been disabled because
You are not logged into your inMusic account.
Please run the BFD License Manager”
…and around and around we go. This was working fine up until what would have been the 90day thing.
My advice and it should not break anything is:
-
Delete all sample libraries. You can use your license installer to delete but you just need to dump all you BFD sample contents in the trash and empty.
-
Open your License manager and look at “about license manager” ( to see if it is LM 3.0.5.2 or 3/5/0.3) - top the BFD License manager menu.
-
Download BFD Version 3.4.3 from your current license manager.
-
Install BFD 3.4.3.7. This will install License manager 3.0.5.2. You will want 3.0.5.3 (if you do not have it look at post 53/106 of this thread. Download it and install it. It will write over 3.0.5.2. You may want to keep a duplicate also.
-
Open up your license manager 3.0.5.3 and download all of your content installers including BFD 3 content installer.
-
Install all contents installers from the License manager 3.0.5.3
-
After install just authorize all and try standalone and then Logic
-
First time in stand-alone go to tools- preferences- data and rescan you drives. Make sure they look right. Delete the ones that are not correct
Thanks, will give all that a shot when I have some time. Cheers
The content downloads and install take hours.
I didn’t bother with re-downloading everything again…
Just noted that I didn’t have the correct license manager and d/loaded the one from post 53/106. (3.0.5.3) and it all just worked.
Not sure why support didn’t suggest this, given the BFD 3.4.3.7 installer installed the problematic 3.0.5.2… Aargh
All good now!

Glad you sorted it out. They need to remove that older LM. Creating more problems than necessary.

Nothing explicit to announce on this yet, but we are talking about it internally.

Good news indeed. Hopefully it will work with all DAWs this time. Will beta testers be notified?
Yep, absolutely they will.

@exBFD_Drew Drew! Please help! I am on Monterey 12.2.1; BFD 3.4.3.7, LM 3.0.5.3, ProTools 2021.12, Ableton 11.1.
I cannot get the plugin to see the authorization. I can get the standalone app to authorize.
What can I do???

@Appledude THANK YOU, SIR!
LM 3.0.5.3 works fine for me with standalone and Pro Tools AAX, but I’m on a much older macOS (High Sierra) than you.

When I migrated in April I was on Mojave. BFD 3 worked with everything it seemed. I then upgraded to Monterrey and everything seemed broken. After lots of reading I figured this out- so yeah it is a Monterey thingy, Glad Mr. Falcon got it working. I very glad mine is working. The last month has been a blast with it again. It had been years since I really used it. Like someone else, I spent lots of money and loved it, then they wanted lots of money to upgrade and so I didn’t. I finally got to upgrade in 2019 b ut was using SSD 5, so I did not use it. Tried to get a good trigger map for my TD30 and didn’t like what was happening. Now I got the mapping good and been doing a couple of remixes and must say it just sounds better in the mix than SSD.
