Roland TD-17-27-30-50/X…All use the same Map…the main difference is the Aux/Expansion inputs…which can also be split by the user for bigger Kits.
You can also try each one as there may be slight differences in the settings for Factory Roland Kit Piece Models/Sizes.
I created an Updated Key Map for Roland TD27KV2 that includes all the additional articulations for the Hi Hat in Dark Farm…and reportedly working well in BFDv3.5.
See if that solves your issues..

Roland Modules…for the most part…use the same Mapping.
The difference being…the additional Mapping/MIDI Note assignments for the AUX Inputs.
The BFD Maps also have some differences in the Fine tuning for different trigger/models as the Kits came with different size and different designs as do the modules where you select the trigger/model presets.
You can load different Maps and see if any work better or worse…

I created/attached a MIDI map (w/image) for the TD-50 with the Upgraded Hi Hat Transitions (1/8) for Dark Farm and other Expansions when they are updated.
Unzip…copy/Paste the Folder to:
Windows C:\ProgramData>BFD Drums>BFD3>System>Maps.
macOS Library>Application Support>BFD Drums>BFD3>System>Maps
Rescan System Content Path

I mainly focus on Alesis Modules…
However…ALL Drum Modules are basically TMI…so setting up for Vst/Software is Universal.
Local Control ON sends to Internal Sound Generator…
Local Control OFF sends to External Sound Generator/Software etc.
Drum Default MIDI Channel = 10…GM Mode = OFF
For use as a TMI with BFD3 or External MIDI Only…GM Mode and Local Control should Always be OFF…
If you plan on sending Audio and MIDI I would check and see if the Module sends MIDI with Local Control ON…some …
