never got a reply. think I will look for a different
drum software

Hey All, had this issue and the solve is as follows:

Head to Key Maps

In the upper right hand corner of the central window with the digital drum kit, click on tools.

Make sure “Choke on Aftertouch” is turned off. Immediately fixed the issue on every track.

Hello ! Coming back to this topic three years after creating it.

My “max stream buffer” solution didn’t work anymore since an update and my cymbals cutted off.

I tried Dd300’s “choke on aftertouch” guide and for now it seems to work so thanks to him !!.. I keep my fingers crossed and will update the first message of the topic so that people can read the answer directly.

Update : it stills cuts. A lot less, but it happens.

Have you tried different choke settings in BFD3 Prefs? I’ve had to experiment with those when I’ve had similar issues. How much system RAM do you have now? You initially posted 16GB. I have 24GB and with some of the more detailed expansions like Dark Farm it can become a problem. Also, I think you posted that you have your samples on a platter HDD. That could also be an issue, depending on the expansion used.

I didn’t try tweaking the choke settings, I’ll definitely look into that.

You read right, I’m still on a 16 GB config with the libraries on a hard drive. Still, I don’t know why I had no issues for months and it came back, even if it’s better now that I did Dd300’s trick…

I guess it will never properly get solved

I went to engine preferences and checked ‘Load all to RAM’ and all of the cymbals and drums now play their full recorded envelope. I have 32 gigs of RAM and a 2014 Apple iMac.
