This might be related to this issue which is fixed by deleting or renaming the "DemoCache’ folder.

OH MY GOD I FIXED IT. On macOS, go to ~/Library/Application Support/fxpansion/BFD3 Rename or delete the DemoCache folder. That’s it. If you quit and relaunch, it will create a new DemoCache folder which seems to work fine. [Screencast]
