What's the Latest Authentication/Login Ritual?

Turns out I did literally zero music in 2024. So, on firing up BFD3, I’m getting the dreaded authorization error. It says “There was an issue retrieving your list of products. Our server was unable to process the request”, etc, etc, etc.

I’m doing a packet trace, and I see some TLS to inmusic, so I know it’s hitting whatever server it’s trying to communicate with.

I made sure my password works on bfddrums.com and the inmusic website (which, btw, doesn’t list BFD3 as a registered product, but has all my expansions? what’s up with that?).

So, I’m not sure where to go. My license manager is 3.0.6.22. BFD3 is 3.4.5.28. I’m on a recent MacOS/M3. What’s the latest version I should be using? Is there a beta I need or something? I tried a reinstall. I was good like a year ago. I forget the whole ritual for making it work. So, if you’ve done it recently, some pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind. I figured it out. I just deleted some preferences and authorization stuff, and it all came right up.

It might be helpful for others if you are able to share here the things you did, at least the index or the titles of the rundown.
Thanks for updating the subject to 2025

I would have deleted the prefs, anything in Caches related to inmusic or bfd drums, and I think there was a directory under Application Support related to inmusic.

I don’t really remember, because, in general, as long as your samples drive and user directory are untouched, you can pretty much feel free to wipe it all out and reinstall from scratch. And in general, that’s a good approach. As long as you’re thorough and really wipe everything out, there’s never really any harm in just reinstalling.
