In celebration of 33 years since the album release. I might have to bite simply for the nostalgia, though it’s not a kit sound that I would really use nowadays.

Already got it. It’s a great pack. But you can’t even argue with that price.
Yeah, I couldn’t resist the price either. Totally worth it.
ahh, snag! now i see that it’s drums from… well, that other “The Black Album.”
though it’s not a kit sound that I would really use nowadays
and i reckon right on that. tho i suppose an expansion based on that one does make more of a certain kind of sense.
o-2k
Which album were you thinking, Back in Black?
I mean, I say that it’s not a sound I would be into, but really, all of the expansions can be molded into something that suits the project you’re working on.
In fact my mind was on Prince’s The Black Album (although I can well understand how a LinnDrum expansion might not be all that useful either!)
LinnDrum (LM-2)? Now I think I know where Steinberg/Wizoo got their inspiration for their LM-4 VST.
…And I now see that you can buy actual Wendel samples direct from Roger Nichols’ website! For even MORE of “that kind of inspiration…”
o2k
For slightly less money, you can also buy a sample pack that carries the name ‘Wendel’ and sounds Wendel-ish from Samples From Mars. I’m not sure if it’s the genuine article and ‘Wendel from Mars’ is not endorsed by the Nichols Estate, but it’s not bad. (I got it as part of a bundle purchase.)
Buying something on the Nichols website – even simply visiting it – is both an adventure and a journey back in time. But it ended well.

Hmmm… if you play the Wendel samples backwards, at midnight, on a full-moon hallowe’en… does Jeff Porcaro come back to life?
Have had it for a long time, for rock or alt rock the kick, snare and crashes are really nice, aggressive but you can adjust to style
I was hoping for the drums from Prince’s Black Album… https://youtu.be/9RNhL9d31ac?feature=shared
