Hi all, long time BFD user here, since the beginning, not a drummer, all programmed. I really like the update and am glad to have VST 3 support as this was my last VST 2 plugin still in use.
I’ve done the 3.5 update and had issues with a lot of the individual drum sounds not loading. I found a post by Drew saying to update all libraries, so I did that and it fixed most everything. I’m still having an issue with Imperial, some of the sounds aren’t loading, particularly none of the splash cymbals. There’s no sound to preview or when they are dragged to a channel/slot to load, nothing on the meters either. I uninstalled and reinstalled, now the Imperial sounds all show up twice in the browser, but same issue with no sounds on some of them, still no splash cymbals. I’m on Windows 11 using Cubase 13. Anyone else noticed this, or having any other issues that you weren’t able to fix with sounds not loading or being heard?
Solved:
I had the ambient channel muted and these cymbals are only recorded by the room & overhead mics.
How do you like Imperial? It’s one I’ve always had my eye on, but haven’t picked it up yet. What genre are you using the kit for?
I produce reggae, so whatever sounds I’m using in BFD ends up with a lot of damping and/or tuning and processing.
Imperial is a really good general purpose expansion. A lot of nice kicks and snares in there, in my opinion.
I believe it is based on the old Scarbee drums. Whatever the case, I’ve found it to be pretty comprehensive and good sounding. I give it a thumbs up.
