First, I moved my BFD sample libraries to a new external hard drive and I cannot figure out a way to have BFD 3.5 find them. I do not want to download all of these again. They seem to be correctly authorized (except for 4 expansion packs).
Second question, why won’t this forum allow me to post under support? I’ve done it before.
Thanks!
Hi rosindabow,
I am not sure if this will work, but I have remapped my libraries to an external drive some time ago. So, I think this is how it’s done:
-
Click on the Menu icon at the top-left of BFD and pick Tools>Show Preferences:
-
In the Data (first) option, under Data Paths click in the Launch Content Paths Manager:
-
Click on the library you want to change the path and click on ADD:
-
Now go to the path you have moved your library to and click OK:
-
Now click outside of the Content page and close Preferences
(at the bottom-right).
Let me know it this works for you. If it doesn’t, then there is certainly a bug in the process.
Kind regards,
Living Room Rocker
Because I believe they want users to file an official support ticket on the main BFD website for bugs and technical issues.
Many things you need can be found in the manual, which you can consult download from the help menu.
Best regards.
The process described to you should work. I did similar myself. U may have to ADD each library one at a time. There is a rescan button on the right bottom on the screen, clicking on that will forces BFD to scan the directories. If any banks are missing just press Add again and rescan. I had to add all my libraries one at a time. It took awhile so be patient I couldn’t find any way to speed it up. When it was done I was a bit shocked when it said BFD3 (0), they show up under BFD3 core library

I ended up adding one library at a time. Changing the preferences did nothing. And I did submit an official support ticket - no response. In any case, it took a long time because of how many libraries I own. Hopefully, I will not have to do this again and maybe someone will fix it. I love these drums - just wish there was more consistency in the implementation.
