We’ve been working on this with the Alesis team since we got acquired in 2020. It has been difficult to not talk about it. Very exciting times for BFD!
I’ve been saying for about the last 10 years that this needs to happen.
Better late then never I guess but obviously the tech wasn’t really adequate back then.
It got me wondering, it would be cool if the was a keyboard equivalent that you could install all your favourite synths to and the keyboard would be able to control all their parameters.
Yeah …they weren’t cheap…Never buy one for “Restoration”…the software hasn’t been available for years…
As far as Drum Modules…
The 2Box Module (2010) was the 1st to import Multi-Velocity/Multi-Layered samples…Then the Alesis STRIKE Module (2016)…then the Pearl MIMIC Pro Module (Steven Slate SSD5.5 Library) had a Major Update (2022) to allow Multi-Velocity/Multi-Layer Wav importing…to extend it’s EOL (End of Life).
The New FAQ’s page for the STRATA PRIME Kit has an interesting feature mentioned…
Congratulations! Drew.
If someone still needed a confirmation of inMusic endorsing the future of BFD3, these hard facts and very real new products are well beyond any online declaration or corporate message.
Very much welcome indeed.
And I’ve never so far considered owning a drum kit. With this (or a scaled down version of it), it very well might happen in some future…
Excellent! At least a e-drum module that seems to be from this decade!!! Very modern and a tons of features, and more incoming! Now, I hope you will make a BFD4, I suggest (in order to keep a cohesive system) make an GUI similiar to that one that have the module… Is very clean, modern, elegant!!! that’s what I want!!! BFD3 is good, but if you can to make a face-wash keeping the concept, will be awesome
I can only imagine how hard it’s been not to say (or even hint) anything for so long! Or to say what has been keeping you busy and making BFD4 take longer than it would otherwise perhaps?
So, it doesn’t have the entire BFD3 library just the newer ones? I have bought Dark Farm already but it would be good not to need a laptop (esp live - not that I play live much but we all live in hope!).
The kit looks fantastic value (even better value if the pads & cymbals are more robust and longer lasting than before) and I’m a bit conflicted as I really want it and can probably afford it but drumming is just a hobby d’oh! Great job Strata Prime team! I just got a battered Strike Pro and it’s such a huge leap from the Crimson that I’m like “WHOA, e-drums can be good!”
Anyway, now that it’s out, spill the beans!
It runs on Linux? Does the USB have multitrack audio out? Off to read the info now…
