How can I increase the volume of an entire kit piece’s sounds universally so that the change affects every preset, old or newly created, that uses that kit piece?
Sometime in the past, I became aware of using a Tweaks.txt file to do exactly that (when placed in the parent directory above all the artic directories—so it would apply to all artics). The file would contain just “Gain = 12 dB” (no quotes) in its file text. While revising some old user presets recently, I’ve found this Tweaks.txt method no longer works (a past BFD version update must’ve killed it) and so my volumes on some kitpieces are wrong.
I’m already aware of a the ability to change the decibels in any artic’s "BFDArticTweaks.xml (i.e., trim_dB=“12” inserted right after “count=xx”), but that requires making the change for every artic in the kitpiece, and could get overwritten if I ever change the number of velocities in my install (occasionally I’ll remove a velocity I don’t like, for example).
To be clear, I want to affect a particular kit piece by the same number of decibels all the time, regardless of whether Tech Panel Loudness is turned on for that kit piece.
