GUI problems in 3.5

The new GUI in 3.5 is too big for my screen. In Faders view I can no longer access the bottom of the fader for output info, etc.

What size and resolution is your screen?

I reprted this happening on macbook pro 15inch screen.

I reported this too.

The default size is just too big.

I suggested having a user configurable default which could then be expanded when needed.

I found the issue.

In Windows I had changed the scale of the display items to 125 percent because I am not a young man any longer. This affected the VST plugin version, making it so that I could not see the bottom of the GUI screen. Interestinlgy, it did not affect the standalone version.

Maybe BFD could make the VST version respond the same way as the standalone? That way I could get the large scale that makes it easier to work with AND see everything in the GUI.

Yeah, I noticed this too on my MBA. The MacOS default size is 1440x900, and this plugin is bigger than this at its smallest size. I hope they will fix this asap.

Yes…!!
This is a big problem. In the recent BFD 3.5 version (MacOS 15.3.2), the default window size is too big and does not scale when you try to make it smaller. The window will NOT resize at all. There is no adjustment for this in the Preferences Menu either… (why would anyone ever want to do that?)
The top or bottom of the GUI will be cut off. Which one is cut off appears to be random as well. It’s buggy. Usually with scalable plugin windows you can grab the corner of the window and resize it… however this is not possible even though you can see a “resize” icon in the lower right corner of the window. It will get wider, just not smaller. PLEASE fix this…!!! It’s so frustrating to have to close and reopen the plugin window just to be able to have access to the top or bottom of the screen. Functionality is seriously compromised.

Anyone have a “fix”…??

However, the height is the problem, covers the whole DAW window, my resolution is 1920 x1080. If you could just scale it, you also have to consider that the font size could become too small again. In stand alone mode it is fine.
Many plugins have this problem, and I already wear screen glasses.

Same issue here on a MacBoook Air M2. BFD3 should include the same Scale option as the BFD player.

The stand alone version is exacly the same too big for my macbook pro and it makes it tially unusable as cant access top or bottom of screen and cant even move the window!
Really not great these releases, they dont seem to be tested properly and the response to problems is poor…

I have the opposite problem. Old versions were fine. With version 3.5, I couldn’t read the installation instructions. The GUI is unusable (way too small to read) on my home-brewed workstation that uses an MS Surface Pro. I have very many other VSTs and stand-alones - all are fine.
Decent scalable GUI please!
Edit: Too small as stand-alone, too big in Reaper. Not really ready for release

Same here, too big or too small for my screens, resizable is the word used by all other software makers… please come with us in 2025

Far too big in Cantabile host. Twice the size of any other plugin. Needs to be at least the same size as BFD 3.4 with all GUI components scaled to fit. Anyone who wants to make it larger should of course have that option.

I just bought a Macbook Pro m4 with a 14" screen so I could work remotely while travelling. BFD3 does not fit on my screen and I cannot move it up to get to the bottom of the GUI. I would have to buy a larger computer screen just to work with BFD3 - did no one at the company foresee this in planning the update? A QUICK SOLUTION is to make an option to hide the TOP of the GUI so only the mixer is visible - just like the arrows on the sides allow you to hide the browser area. I have presets that are routed out to numbered channels. I can no longer see those routing numbers because my screen is not high enough. This was not a problem with my desktop screen, but it’s about 2500 miles away right now.

Any suggestions?
