@sjun . . . sorry, can’t help your issue with the old server, but wanted to relate something I noticed just in the last day regarding BFD licensing. I’ve been using BFD3.5 almost every day for a while now, and every frigging time you launch it . . . it phones home for a license authorization. In the last day, that stopped . . . so clearly something has changed on their license servers.
I too rolled back to 3.4.5.28 a while ago. 3.5 is rubbish and a hostage situation. Pretty close to ‘abondoneware’ at this point. The familiar, “inMusic is where good software goes to die”.
On topic, I opened the old LM today and it loads up and shows it’s connected.I don’t have anything new to authorize or BFD hasn’t hiccuped requiring a re-auth for me recently, which it has done a couple of times in the past. My LM is v 3.0.6.22(2022). My Win 11 PC is old so I still have the old License Manager. Had BFD since v2.
I’m sorry this doesn’t solve your issue other than to say what version I have and it does load up and connect. Maybe check your firewall in case something chaged access out of the blue, like an update?
I have not been able to run BFD3 for MONTHS due to the online auth and no free time to move my studio computer to the nearest internet connection.
I have had to revert to BFD2 (obviously I can’t use any of my newer BFD3 only libraries).
This is BFD3.4.5 and LM 3.0.6.22
I have finally been able to haul my studio mac to a place with internet connection. I open LM and it tells me the server is unable to process the request. What do I do now? Take my mac back to the studio and then haul it back out again to have another go?!
This is insane. Those of us who have offline studios NEED a one time auth code or an offline challenge-response option or some method so we can USE THE SOFTWARE WE PAID FOR.
I have been a user since BFD1 and even lent some of my drums to the FX guys for sampling back in the day.
Now I cannot use this software. I have had to keep two libraries on my HDs (one for BFD 2 and one for BFD3) to cover the downtime when the BFD3 LM runs out of time (which is often before the 90 day period) and now all the BFD3 stuff is inaccessible and I’ve wasted a trip carrying my studio computer out in the cold and rain to log on.
