Can´t get BDF drums to center on desktop

Hello everyone,

I’m having serious trouble using BFD3.5 on my notebook due to a display issue. The software window appears extremely large, and I can’t see the full interface — parts of the application are completely cut off, making it impossible to access menus or use it properly.

I read the official support article suggesting to change the screen resolution (e.g., from 1920x1080 to 1680x1050), but my notebook only supports up to 1366x768, so those options are not available to me.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Verified my display settings — max resolution is 1366x768.
  • Tried changing scaling settings (like 100%, 125%), but the BFD3.0 window remains oversized.
  • Updated my graphics driver to the latest version.
  • Looked into custom resolutions, but my system (integrated graphics) doesn’t allow anything higher.
  • No external monitor is currently available.

As it stands, I cannot use BFD3.5 at all due to this display limitation. Has anyone found a workaround for low-resolution displays or a way to manually resize the BFD3.5 window?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Regiberto

BFD3.0…or BFD3.5 ? ..
Older Versions..Prev3.5 used the resizing arrows at the top left next to the Help Button.

BFD3.0 Reference Manual > Global Controls.. (3 Down)

Sorry. 3.5. …hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Display Resolution/Scaling etc etc applies to the Main Program or Standalone..
You are using the Vst

Some DAW you can adjust the Vst scaling…most don’t

ABLETON LIVE

Make sure “Auto-Scale Plug-In Window” is unchecked. You can find this option by right-clicking the plugin name in Ableton Live’s plugin list. After making changes, please reopen your session.

CUBASE

Enable HiDPI by going to Edit > Preferences > General.

After enabling it, click Apply and restart Cubase to finalize the changes.

Cubase HiDPI

FL STUDIO

Currently, the only way to benefit from plugin HiDPI mode in FL Studio is to run plugins in BRIDGED MODE.

REAPER

Make sure “Multimonitor aware V2” mode is enabled under Preferences > General > Advanced UI/System tweaks.

You’ll need to restart REAPER to apply the change.

STUDIO ONE

Make sure “HiDPI mode” is unchecked inside the plugin window settings.

If None of the abovet DAW/Vst Host…

You can try the following ..otherwise the only other option is a Higher Resolution Display..

WINDOWS

Close your DAW.
Locate your DAW's executable file in Windows Explorer (typically under Program Files).
Right-click the executable and select Properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab.
Open the Change high DPI settings menu.
Check Override high DPI scaling behavior.
In the dropdown, select System or System (Enhanced).
Click OK and then Apply the changes.

I use Reaper and a notbook. I tried to do what you said about the reaper and nothing changed. I connected my notebook to my 53-inch TV and it still stayed the same. When I connect it to the TV, the resolution option of 1920 x 1080 appears, but it stays the same.

Hooking your notebook up to a TV screen won’t effect the size of BFD3 as you discovered.
You’re essentially getting the same screen as it appears on your notebook, but bigger.

Steve

I know, I did it because when it’s connected to the TV I can increase the display rate to 1080 x 1920, which is even suggested here on the forum. However, it doesn’t help. When I put the screen in portrait mode I was able to see the end of the program, but it can’t work with the screen turned around

EDIT:
Multiple replies were made while “Waiting for Approval” process.
Which has proven itself time and time again to be BS..I can make 1 reply in a Topic..then the next reply in the Same Topic only minutes apart…needs approval… the system interrupts the conversation…This reply was approved nearly 24 hours after the 1st.

One would presume the purpose of a Beta Testing Program would be to test one of the very 1st issues there would be and that is scaling the Standalone and Vst on multiple monitor resolutions in multiple DAW’s , especially 4K which there has been that issue for years when 4K 1st start coming out.(8K has been out going on 10 years) and provided a Troubleshooter or settings recommendation for DAW’s…apparently not… as recently there have been numerous Topics created about multiple DAW and Vst scaling..

This reply shows you can correct the Vst scaling in Reaper..for conected 1920 x 1080 Monitor at 100%.

You can scale the Vst smaller..however there is a Limit and you then would rely on moving (L-R..Up-Down) the Vst inside the Window (Yellow)

The UI Settings for Reaper was their recommended settings for Vst Scaling issues..
BFD3.5 requires different settings for the scaling than the posted above which was the recommendation..

Set the Advanced UI Tweaks to AWARE

TESTED..
Reaper Evaluation Version.

PC/Windows Display Resolution 1920x1080
Reaper:UI System Tweaks - AWARE

Different Monitor Scaling in Windows depends and how you setup the Display settings Duplicate or Extended.
You can run multiple Monitors with different resolutions and different refresh rates…

In the Display settings set the External Monitor(TV) to 1920x1080..EXTENDED..
You can then drag Reaper DAW or just the BFD Vst over and it will resize Automatically.

You can also adjust In the Control Panel of your Video card.

For Example: NVIDIA Card/Control Panel

The end result is the same..

BFD3.5 Vst 1366x768 and Reaper DAW 1920x1080..simultaneously.
