BFD3.5 Dysfunctional

Hi
Long time user, recently installed BFD3.5.
It crashes Pro Tools as soon as I insert it on an instrument track.
Where do I find downloads for previous BFD versions?
Anyone else have this issue?
Win11 PT Studio

PM sent with a link to the old installers

Be aware, that the old License Manager cannot download expansion content… it can only handle authorizations atm. For any expansions that you have re-downloaded for the v3.5 update, you will have to replace the XML file in the root directory of the expansion/core library where Audio and Resources is with the previous one:

version.xml.zip (517 Bytes)

Thanks very much mate.
Do you know if they’re working to fix this issue? Can’t believe after this many years and the money I’ve put into it I can’t even use it.

I recently contacted support about the issue of the old LM not being able to download the previous content versions and they said that they were working on a solution. I wouldn’t hold my breath for a quick fix though, as they are trying to put the old way of doing things behind and focus on v3.5 and the Software Center moving forward.

As a workaround, it is possible to download content via the inMusic Software Center and use the newer content with v3.4.5.28. The caveat being, to replace that XML file above. I have only tried this method with one expansion so far though, so I’m uncertain if it works for all content.

If it does work across all expansions, then it’s an easy way to have the most recent versions with whatever fixes they’ve made to them and still be able to use it with either v3.4.5.28, or v3.5. The previous BFD3 build seems to just ignore the new “Resources” folder added to content for v3.5.

Tread carefully with this “workaround” if you decide to go that route. User, Chaser brought it to my attention that some of the older expansions for v3.4.5.28 used multiple info files, whereas now with v3.5, everything has been consolidated into one file. Always backup stuff beforehand, so you can revert if things go wrong.

That’s easy.

Toontrack.

The problem with Toontrack is it’s too polished and cookie-cutter sounding ootb. Most BFD3 users are using it, specifically because it is not like that. If you’re after that type of sound and aren’t interested in tweaking a kit, then yeah, SD3, or even SSD 5.5 is a better option.

I have the same problem with cubase 14. As I open the plugin, all my memory is gone and I cannot work with Cubase anymore. It is a disaster.
