BFD3.4.5.28 Release Notes

As far as I am aware it;s still in Beta.

It’s showing up in Software Center. And License Manager has disappeared as a download.

BFD3.5 has soft launched. Official launch is in March. I’m looking into fixing the Dark Farm download right now!

These expansion packs are not 100% the same as previous ones, and if your content acts funny with BFD3.5, I highly recommend downloading the newer packs from the inMusic Software Center. This will be the official advice too.

I hope it’s Catalina compatible … as I am still using BFD 3 on my old machine

Very grateful for this - thank you!

Pro Tools Apple Silicon Native AAX is working well - once it gets going. One thing that’s happening consistently is that ā€œChecking Login Statusā€ then ā€œChecking Product Registrationsā€ cycles on the plugin window for about 1 minute and 7 seconds whenever an instance of the AAX plugin is opened (or instantiated on a track) for the first time since Pro Tools has launched. If there’s more than one instance of BFD in the session, this happens with each instance of the plugin. (Note, this doesn’t seem to affect playback or processing of the plugin, just access to the GUI). Do others experience this? Is it a known issue?

[I’m using Pro Tools Studio 2024.10.2 on a MacBook Pro with M1 Max running MacOS Sonoma 14.4.]

What exactly are ā€œThese expansion packsā€?
Please provide a list of expansion packs that need to be updated.

I added a second snare in BFD3.5 for layering. The sound plays, but it does not appear in the mixer. How can I fix this?

If the inMusic Software Center runs on Catalina, then v3.5 should as well. Doesn’t run on Mojave sadly, so I’m outta luck.

Steve,
Thank you very much for the reply, it worked perfectly. I was looking in a whole different direction! Much appreciated!

Nope … the updated one does not work, minimum is OS 12

Yeah, I posted this days ago and it never got approved until today. I was just basing that on trying to run the Software Center on Mojave and it prompted that it needed Catalina minimum. I was assuming that since BFD 3.5 was just an incremental update that it wouldn’t require more than Catalina also.

Edit: Thinking about it some more… I think it’s kind of a bit unfair that this update made such a big OS jump on the Mac side. It’s now 5 versions ahead of High Sierra, which was the minimum requirement for the previous build. I mean I get it… it’s an incremental update at face, but really a bit more.
