BFD 3.5: I might have found a bug?

Hey everyone

I’m not sure, but I think I might have discovered a little bug in 3.5’s mixer’s sends functionality. I can’t really believe it, since I’m generally much more inclined to believe in “operator error,” but I just double-checked my experience and it’s still happening as observed.

In any case, there’s a topic category for old bugs (“Archive”) but I do not know where to properly place a description of a potentially current one.

Is there an appropriate category to submit a new bug report?

Thanks!

I think they phased out the official bug reporting on this forum. I think they want you to create a support ticket via the website to bring attention to any bugs.

OK – I will do that.

Informally then, just for general edification of the forum-o-shpere (and in case anyone is curious):

In brief, it appears that Channel 1 (“Kick”) Send 1 did not pass audio to an Aux set up to receive it. However Channel 1’s Send 2 does pass its audio to the same Aux.

Send 1 on all other channels passes audio to auxes that I created for them just fine.

I was working with the Vintage Recording Techniques expansion when this happened, haven’t tested it with any other presets or kits as yet.

I have VRT, but can’t run v3.5, so I can’t test. Maybe someone else here with VRT and the latest build can at least confirm what you are experiencing.

It’s a small thing I guess, but might be worth making note of.

Forgot to mention, over here it’s happening on OS 14.7

I will try to test this on the weekend if I remember, on night shifts so usually in zombi mode on the weekend but I will try to remember.

Works fine here, I set up and AUX, sent kick there, can see the levels and when I solo the AUX I hear the kick.

Oh shoot – I got so busy working with tech support on the question that I dropped the ball on this thread entirely. Vast apologies!

Systematic testing undertaken here at the tension headache studio revealed that the source of the problem boiled down to a corruption in the specific customized spin-off of the VRT Blumlein template that I had created for myself in order to derive the “direct outs” option.

I trashed my original custom preset entirely and re-built it; Kick channel problem eliminated.

The testing process then prompted a fascinating dive into the rest of my custom BFD presets and I gained some very useful new perspectives in that effort. But I became so absorbed in the process that I left the rest of you hanging, and I do apologize for not updating my post.

Many thanks to you all, and of course as always to “Level II Sam” for patience and helpfulness!
